Your Small Business and Google Places

Small Businesses today are presented with many different options when it comes to online advertising. Truth is, there are many FREE options that small business owners are not aware of and I’d like focus specifically on one of those free resources to jump on, Google Places. Lets first begin by describing the steps to claim your business on Google:

[sub]Step One: Go to Google Places

Step Three:

Wait for Postcard with Conf Code
After you’ve submitted all the info to Google, they will then verify that you are indeed the business owner by mailing you a postcard with a code on it. It takes about 3-4 days to receive it and it will have all the necessary instructions on it for you to officially confirm your business on Google Places.

This process might not be immediate but it’s a great free way to give your business some klout. Once you have claimed your business you will be able to interact more with your customers and respond to any positive or even negative feedback. Who knows you might already have some reviews up there already, so if you have a small business please invest a little time with this; it will be sure to help you with search rankings!
